Scrapbook Pages Slideshow

Here are several scrapbook layouts I have shared at Scrapbook Ideas lately – some are from last winter, spring and summer (I’m trying to get caught up on my scrapbooking) and some are from this winter – the January layouts and the “You Rock” page :).

Happy First Day of December!

I love Christmastime! The music, the decorations, the wonderful family times and especially the times spent reflecting on God’s most precious gift to us – his only son, Jesus Christ! I bought a cute count-down-to-Christmas wall decoration at Hobby Lobby the other day, so this morning Gabe got to put the little wooden candy cane in the pocket for day one where he found this Bible verse I had tucked inside:

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Isaiah 7:14

When he got home from school, he also had an advent calendar in his back pack with daily Bible verses leading up to Christmas day. Here’s the one for today:

Arise, and shine, for your light has come! Isaiah 60:1

Praise the Lord! And here’s a fun flash back to last Christmas for you :)!

By-the-way, if you are a scrapbooker you should head over to my other site, where I have a free Christmas themed Digital Scrapbooking kit available! Here’s the link: Scrapbook Ideas. Enjoy!

Photo Books!

Just wanted to share a link to yesterday’s post on my scrapbooking site:

My Photo Book Ideas PLUS Free Greeting Cards.

I know many of you are not scrapbookers, but you still might enjoy looking at the photo books :). Enjoy!

Julia’s Flower Headband

When I realized I was having a baby girl, I knew it was only a matter of time before one of my scrapbooking flowers would become a hair accessory!

I love how this headband was making her ears stick out a little – too cute! I would have tried to position the flower off to the side a bit to make it look better, but once I finally got the headband on her I didn’t want to push my luck by fussing with it too much.

Now, I should clarify that I would not recommend using scrapbooking flowers for everyday hair accessories! Firstly, they are not safe for babies, especially little paper ones like the above flower. They are also likely to fall off, especially if you attached them to the headband with glue dots like I did ;).

Week 4, 2010

Phew, between sleepless nights, winter colds and lots of other little things, I haven’t had much spare time for scrapbooking lately! But I finally did get a chance to finish up the recap of our last week in January. If every month flies by like January did, 2011 will be here before we know it!

Close Ups:

Journaling reads:

1) Julia sporting a cute outfit from grandma. 2) Rebekah brought us some more of her delicious homemade soup when she came over for a game night. 3) Gabe wore this awesome new outfit from Auntie Tanya and Uncle Michael to church this rainy Sunday. 4) Every winter I get the butternut squash soup from Atlanta Bread as many times as I can before they stop making it for the season. I can never get enough! 5) Gabe sporting the classic newsboy pose. 6) I hope I am still devotedly learning about the Lord when I am 93 years old, like this wonderful lady in my Bible study class. 7) Chris and I had our last late-night Oreos and milk snack (for now). We are both trying to lose some weight this year. 8) Gabe built a great fort and filled it with all of his “guys” (stuffed animals). Julia was perfectly content to sit by him and watch his every move. He likes having her nearby, and he kept stopping his work to get her toys, talk to her and put a little blanket over her legs. They love each other so much! It was so cute because when he posed to show off his fort for the camera, Julia realized that he was looking toward me, so she followed his gaze and looked over at me just in time for me to capture this sweet photo! 9) We have a great group of ladies in the Thursday night Bible study of Hebrews chapters 1-4. These photos are from January 22 to 28, 2010.
