Our Life in Daily Photos

Hello my friends! Sorry for the lack of blogging lately. I took a break during the holidays, then we had a few weeks of sickness and now I think things are finally getting back to normal around here :)! Even though I wasn’t blogging in January, I WAS taking lots of pictures – at least one each day (usually many more)! And I am happy to say that I have been making lots of digital scrapbook pages with all of my photos too :). Here’s a little sample of my pics, one for each day of January.

Hope your Valentine’s season is off to a great start :)!!!

Happy First Day of December!

I love Christmastime! The music, the decorations, the wonderful family times and especially the times spent reflecting on God’s most precious gift to us – his only son, Jesus Christ! I bought a cute count-down-to-Christmas wall decoration at Hobby Lobby the other day, so this morning Gabe got to put the little wooden candy cane in the pocket for day one where he found this Bible verse I had tucked inside:

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Isaiah 7:14

When he got home from school, he also had an advent calendar in his back pack with daily Bible verses leading up to Christmas day. Here’s the one for today:

Arise, and shine, for your light has come! Isaiah 60:1

Praise the Lord! And here’s a fun flash back to last Christmas for you :)!

By-the-way, if you are a scrapbooker you should head over to my other site, where I have a free Christmas themed Digital Scrapbooking kit available! Here’s the link: Scrapbook Ideas. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving Craft Ideas

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving :)! We had such a lovely weekend – there is much to be thankful for. Here are some fun Thanksgiving crafts we tried this year, plus a few from last year too :)!

Printable Thanksgiving Paper Craft Toys

Aren’t these guys SO CUTE??? If I had realized they would take me two hours to make I might have skipped them, but once I got going I was hooked! And Gabe loved playing with them too, so it was all worth it :). Here’s a link to the site where you can download these and other free printable paper crafts (look across the top of the page): Thanksgiving Paper Craft. TIP: I used glue dots instead of liquid glue!

Vintage Thanksgiving Postcard Banner

This was a super cute and fun idea I have seen on lots of crafty blogs – a banner of vintage images. You can find plenty of these images by doing a Google search for vintage post cards (for practically any occasion too)! Just make sure it is OK with the site owner before you print them out and use them :). I just backed mine with scrapbook paper and tied them together with string (ribbon would look pretty too if you have some on hand).

Pumpkin Turkey!

Gabe made this one in Mrs. Claudia’s class :). She used a fork to poke holes in the top and sides for the kids to stick feathers into. Then they just needed to add a felt waddle and googly eyes of course!

Happy Thanksgiving Banner

This is the banner Gabe and I made for Thanksgiving last year. It was a great way for me to make use of some left-over scrapbook supplies while creating a sweet reminder of my little boy – small hands make the most adorable turkeys :).

Fall Wreath with Nuts and Bittersweet Branches

Here’s the wreath we put together last year when we got together with my sister and niece for a craft day :)!

Poipu Beach in Kauai

Of the three beaches we visited in Kauai, Poipu Beach was our favorite! There is a “baby pool” which is enclosed by a man-made wall of rocks to keep the big waves out. There are also shady, grassy areas near the water – which were very useful, since Julia was not a fan of the ocean!

She didn’t like being in or near the water, so we took turns hanging out on the beach mat with her while the others splashed in the (mini) waves. She was as happy as a clam playing with the beach toys under the shade of the palm trees (he he).

It was so fun just lounging with my sweet girl in such a beautiful setting!

I remember when Gabe didn’t like the ocean and sand – those days are long gone now! He loved playing in the water this time around, which was great to see :).

I love our two precious kids so much – it’s such a blessing that we were able to enjoy this amazing trip together as a family!

Tate Farms 2010

Here are a few of my favorite photos from our recent trip to Tate Farms. We go every year and always have a great time! You can also click on the image below to be taken to a slide show with the larger sized images :).

If you haven’t visited my blog in a while, you might be thinking that I spent hours and hours carefully arranging my photos into a pumpkin shape – NOT SO :). I am loving this cool “Shape Collage” software – I can upload any shape and it will make a shaped collage with my images!

Note to my Scrapbooking Friends:

If you are needing a pumpkin shape or some other fall-themed digital scrapbooking things you should check out my Scrapbook Ideas site – I just added a freebie kit called Fall Fun :).
