Cape Cod and Patriot Place {Road Trip Pics Continued}

We were really close to Cape Cod while staying with family in Plymouth, so we spent one afternoon visiting the Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich, Ma. Sandwich is a perfectly beautiful little New England town, and the oldest town in Cape Cod. I love driving through that area, and of course I love the gardens there! It was Chris’ first visit, which was perfect timing because they are having a Norman Rockwell exhibit this summer – one of his favorites (and mine)! Later, we ate at Seafood Sam’s, where I had some delicious scallops. Next we walked past the impressive coast guard station to the Cape Cod Canal Visitor’s Center. We ended the day with some rocking on the deck overlooking the water, and a nice little walk along the canal :). Another new place we visited this trip was Patriot Place, a huge shopping and entertainment complex near Gillette Stadium, where the New England Patriots play. There were lots of fun things to do there, including two really fun interactive adventures at 5 Wits! The kids also posed in front of the stadium with Chris and Michael, can you see them?

Photo Books!

Just wanted to share a link to yesterday’s post on my scrapbooking site:

I know many of you are not scrapbookers, but you still might enjoy looking at the photo books :). Enjoy!

Daydreams of the Beach

The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;
for he founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the waters.
Psalm 24:1-2

Since today I’m daydreaming of being by the sea, let’s take a look back at some beach photos of Chris and me from years past…

When we were in high school (Martha’s Vineyard 1994):

Still teens, but college students now (Rocky Neck State Park 1998):

Here we are officially a couple again after a 6 1/2 year break (long story). FYI: that’s not really the hairstyle Chris had back then, he let me “play” with his hair that day – luckily that was the last time hehe (Rocky Neck State Park 2001):

Jump ahead to our honeymoon a few years later. Interesting fact, that natural bridge has since collapsed into the sea (Aruba 2003):

Our little Cape Cod getaway a couple of summers ago (Dennis Beach 2008):

I’m so thankful for these lovely memories of the beach with my best friend!

Lovely Garden Memories

More from An English Garden Bed & Breakfast in Dennisport, MA (Cape Cod):

We saw so many hydrangeas everywhere around Cape Cod that I began to wonder if they were the MA state flower :). I love these gorgeous blooms!

The bed & breakfast had the most beautiful gardens in front, so inviting!

Plenty of Black Eyed Susans, what happy wildflowers these are :).

I never had time to sit on this bench, but it looked like the perfect spot to rest.

This section of the garden in front was overflowing with pure loveliness!

Here’s another photo with the bench, looking toward the entrance.

From the front steps I could catch a glimpse of the sea over these hanging flowers.

Couldn’t resist one more photo of the happy Black Eyed Susans!

I loved this arbor on the side closest to the sea. It was simply glorious with the sun steaming through it right after sunrise our first morning in Cape Cod.

An English Garden Bed & Breakfast

This is the B&B we stayed at during our Cape Cod getaway. I also have lots more photos from the gardens outside, which I will share sometime soon :). I loved this place!
