In the craziness of the summer, I never had a chance to post Gabe’s birthday update! Here he is with Bruiser Bear for his four-year old photo. I can’t stop looking at his photos and wondering where the last four years have gone! He has grown in so many ways – physically of course, but also emotionally and socially. He is very bright and LOVES to learn, he is constantly asking questions and exploring everything in his world. For the most part, he has replaced tantrums/whining with civilized reasoning (and bargaining!) and is now much more comfortable engaging in conversations with people he doesn’t know well. He goes to “Mother’s Day Out” on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, has Cubbies on Wednesday nights, and has Sunday school on Sunday mornings followed by choir practice and Mission Friends on Sunday night. At first I was worried about signing him up for so many things, but he loves them all so much that I am glad we did!

Gabe is such a joy to have around – he’s a happy kid who is a great helper and a WONDERFUL big brother! He is able to be independent while we take care of his baby sister and he loves to play with her and cheer her up if she’s fussy. They are so sweet together – what a blessing :).

Even though he still has a strong will sometimes, he is soooo much more cooperative and obedient these days. He’s more easy-going about schedules, less picky about food and much more patient too. On our recent trip to Hawaii we could see a huge difference in how well he traveled in contrast to our trip to England last fall – he has grown up a lot.

We love our little guy so much, and even though he’s turning into a “Big Boy” I still like to call him my “Baby Bear” because that’s what he still is to me :).
