Julia’s 8 Month Update

It’s time for Julia’s 8 month update! Actually, she is about 8 1/2 months old at this point, but I haven’t had a chance to blog about it yet :). A lot has changed in the past month! She is now sitting up by herself to play, rolling around on the floor like a pro and eating lots of different types of baby food. She’s still very petite, 15 lbs -  at a recent doctor visit we found out that she is in the 5th percentile for height and at the 10th percentile for weight, but they don’t seem too concerned about that. She is over her “stranger anxiety” for the most part – a huge blessing! We haven’t really been using baby signs with her like we did with Gabe, so she isn’t doing any of those, but she does say Dada, Mama and “noooo” (in a cute drawn out way). I doubt she knows what they mean (except possibly Dada), but it is very fun to hear. Still no teeth, but she does seem to be teething, so maybe soon… Here are some cute things she’s been doing: she puts her lips together and whistles, she whispers baby talk to us and she laughs every time she sees herself in a mirror :). As always, she is a happy girl who loves to smile, giggle and cuddle. We are so in love with this adorable little sweetie!

She looks so yummy in this picture–sweet confection. Can’t wait to gobble her up in my arms and have all of you back.

    LOVE

Jess, what’s not to love about her? She is just so adorable. I am wondering, however, how you keep her from pulling the flower off her headband?! Have a great day in the Lord.

    Jess,

I just wanted to say “Hi!” Carter just turned 9 months on Sunday so he’s doing much of the same thing Julia is. He’s sitting up, holding his own bottle, rolling around on the floor and is trying with all his might to learn to crawl. So far he’s just rocking back and forth on his knees and hands. So cute! Anyway, there are some babies in the nursery at church who are about his same age who seem miles ahead in their development – crawling, walking, talking, driving a car, etc…lol. I’m trying to enjoy Carter for who he is, but sometimes it is hard not to compare your precious little one to the others especially when some of the other “well-meaning” mothers bring certain issues to your attention. Do you have this problem too? The pediatrician says that he’s perfectly normal and not to worry, but sometimes it’s hard not to. Carter has a fun personality – he loves to smile and laugh. Many times I see him trying to make eye contact with strangers and he doesn’t give up until that unknown person acknowledges him. He’s friends with everyone and I wish that I could be more like him. I’m very much “in love” with my little prince and I thank God every day for giving him to me. Please tell Chris “congratulations” on his recent accomplishment. I hope this note finds you well and in good cheer. Love, Jennifer Duncan
